Prompt: As the raven perched on the worn wooden desk, its eyes darted around the room, taking in every detail. The room was small, with a single window that let in the faint light of dawn. The desk was old, with a worn surface that had seen countless hours of writing and editing. The raven, however, seemed more interested in the book that lay open on the desk.  As it cocked its head to one side, it noticed a single word underlined in red ink. The word was "nevermore". The raven let out a croaking laugh, as if it found the word amusing. It flapped its wings and took off from the desk, flying out the open window and into the morning air.  As it flew, the raven thought back to the days when it had been a pet.
